Position Summary:
The Director of Technology, Data and Integrations is responsible for building and evolving RSF’s core technology foundation by connecting systems, establishing a scalable data infrastructure, and enabling automation that expands organizational capacity.
Reporting to the COO, this role is a hands-on architect and builder who leads the integration of a third-party vendor heavy ecosystem, designs data flows and infrastructure, and implements practical automation solutions that improve operations and decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a mission-driven technology leader who understands that strong systems enable real impact. They lead by doing, are comfortable rolling up their sleeves while guiding others, and bring clarity and structure in environments that are still evolving. They partner across teams to translate needs into practical solutions and help build organizational fluency in systems, data, and automation.
This role combines technical depth and leadership and will play a critical role in enabling RSF to scale its operations and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration Architecture and System Connectivity:
- Design and implement an integration-first architecture across RSF’s third-party platforms using APIs, middleware, and workflow orchestration tools
- Reduce system fragmentation by establishing scalable, maintainable integration patterns
- Evaluate and improve existing integrations for reliability, performance, and simplicity
- Define integration standards and documentation to support long-term sustainability
Data Infrastructure and Data Flow Design:
- Design and implement a practical, scalable data architecture to support reporting, analytics, and operational workflows
- Build and maintain data pipelines and data flows across systems
- Define data models and structures that enable consistent, reliable data usage
- Improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility across platforms
- Design data architecture that incorporates appropriate data governance, privacy, and access controls from the outset
Automation and Workflow Enablement:
- Identify high-impact workflows that can be automated to reduce manual effort and increase capacity
- Design and implement automation solutions using APIs, workflow tools, and AI-assisted approaches where appropriate
- Ensure automation solutions are maintainable, reliable, and aligned with operational needs
- Continuously monitor and improve automation performance and outcomes
Leadership and Other Responsibilities:
- Lead a small internal technology team and support adoption of systems, data, and automation across the organization
- Partner with cross-functional teams and vendors to translate business needs into practical, well-integrated technical solutions
- Maintain documentation, standards, and responsible practices (data, security, governance) while contributing to broader organizational initiatives as needed
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in technology engineering, systems integration, data infrastructure, or platform architecture roles
- Proven experience building integrations across SaaS platforms and designing data pipelines or data infrastructure
- Hands-on experience implementing automation solutions using APIs, workflow tools, or similar technologies
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to design across platforms, data, and workflows
- Experience working in complex, vendor-supported environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams and translate business needs into practical solutions
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated data (e.g., financial, client, or donor data)
- Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
- Must be available to occasionally work outside of regular office hours when needed
- Must be able to work during RSF’s regular pacific standard time office hours as set forth in RSF’s Employee Manual
