CSB & BSB SERVICE - MHW Relief
We are presently accepting applications from qualified individuals to fill the following position(s):
(Relief) Simcoe Crisis Stabilization Beds & Brant Safe Beds
Mental Health Worker
Position: Part-Time, Casual
Base Location:Simcoe and Brantford, Ontario
Start Date: ASAP
Hours of Work: The position covers staff vacancies, including day and overnight shifts. Shifts are generally 12 hours in length but may be pro-rated.
Wage Rate: Starting at 25.31/hour
This position works out of our Simcoe Crisis Stabilization Bed Service location at 189 Norfolk Street South in Simcoe, as well as our Brant Safe Bed Service location at 84 Brant Avenue in Brantford, and provides support to persons experiencing acute mental health crisis and / or contact with the justice system, in a residential setting utilizing a Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Recovery model. Reliable transportation is required. A full job description is available upon request.
REQUIREMENTS: A post-secondary diploma in the Social Services field is required, with a familiarity and understanding of Brant, Haldimand & Norfolk mental health & addiction services. Must be able to work in a close team environment and have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. A current Police records check is required.
Additional Preferences:
- Solid understanding of community mental health Case Management and Psycho-Social Rehabilitation and Recovery principles;
- Related work experience in a mental health service environment;
- Presently certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR;
- Knowledge of local community programs and services;
- Strong organizational and computer skills; experience in Client Data Systems (EMHware), Microsoft Office;
- Familiarity with psychotropic medications, assessment instruments (ie. OCAN, OPOC) and psychiatric reports.
