Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our skilled nursing center in Fayetteville, AR. We are looking for full-time, part-time and PRN. In this vital role, you will deliver non-skilled nursing care to our assigned residents, assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. Your efforts will help promote a safe and nurturing environment that supports the health and happiness of those in your care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Resident Care
- Help residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the restroom.
- Assist residents with eating and drinking as needed.
- Help residents move safely, including walking, transferring from bed to chair, and repositioning in bed.
- Provide skin care and help keep residents clean and comfortable.
- Make beds and help keep resident rooms clean and organized.
Monitoring Residents
- Take and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure when assigned.
- Watch for changes in a resident’s condition, behavior, or mood.
- Report concerns or changes to the nurse right away.
- Document care and services provided according to facility procedures.
Safety and Infection Control
- Follow all infection control procedures, including proper handwashing and use of protective equipment.
- Help prevent falls and injuries by following safety procedures.
- Respond quickly to call lights and requests for help.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.
Resident Rights and Respect
- Treat all residents with dignity, kindness, and respect.
- Protect resident privacy and keep personal information confidential.
- Encourage residents to be as independent as possible.
- Support residents’ personal choices and preferences when possible.
Teamwork and Communication
- Work closely with nurses and other team members to provide quality care.
- Communicate clearly with residents, families, and coworkers.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions.
- Follow facility policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
Certification
- Must have a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Arkansas.
- Must be listed in good standing on the Arkansas Nurse Aide Registry.
Experience
- Experience in long-term care or healthcare is helpful but not required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly with residents and staff.
- Ability to provide compassionate care to elderly residents.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Ability to observe and report changes in a resident’s condition.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to help lift or move residents using proper equipment and techniques.
- Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays if needed.
