Serving Western Pennsylvania, Northeast Ohio, and Northwestern West Virginia, we are the largest independent parts and service network in the tri-state area. With offices in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Youngstown, and Erie, our factory-trained technicians are available 24/7 to provide exceptional service, as well as accurate parts identification. In addition to our large inventory of OEM parts, AIS services all makes and models of gas, steam, electric, and refrigerated food service equipment as well as all lines of beverage equipment.
Position Summary
As part of the AIS team and Tech24 network, our Hot & Cold Technicians play a critical role in servicing both commercial cooking (hot side) and refrigeration (cold side) equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of commercial kitchen and refrigeration systems while delivering exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in solving problems, minimizing customer downtime, and representing the company with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, etc.)Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk-ins, reach-ins, prep tables, ice machines, etc.)Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company systemClearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customersManage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stockedRespond to service calls in a timely and professional mannerRepresent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer serviceFollow all safety regulations and company policiesParticipate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities
Qualifications
3+ years of commercial foodservice and/or refrigeration repair experienceValid driver’s license with a clean driving record requiredStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience working on commercial kitchen equipment is a plusAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprintsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditionsAbility to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quartersOwn industry standard hand toolsWillingness to participate in an on-call rotation as neededEPA Universal certification preferred
Compensation Transparency
The advertised pay range for this position is $20-$35 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in both commercial hot-side and cold-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
