Maureen Joy Charter School is seeking an Exceptional Children's (EC) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

As a Special Education Teacher, you are adept at creating supportive and effective IEPs that address individual student needs. Your organizational skills ensure meticulous management of Exceptional Children (EC) paperwork, deadlines, and data collection in strict accordance with relevant regulations. As a team player, you are eager to work collaboratively with colleagues across different disciplines to integrate and optimize learning strategies and accommodations for our students. You enjoy partnering with families through facilitating IEP meetings and on-going communication. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience in managing a caseload of students with unique needs by providing services developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and facilitating IEP meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance with all legal and school requirements regarding EC documentation and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, families, and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of students, collaborate with stakeholders to develop high-quality IEPs , and measure progress toward set goals and objectives.
- Maintain EC files in strict compliance, ensuring timely annual reviews, progress reports, and reevaluations.
- Facilitate IEP meetings with families.
- Provide targeted and specially designed small group instruction and/or specialized instruction within the least restrictive learning environment (co-teaching), based on students' IEPs.
- Conduct frequent progress monitoring through formal and informal assessments, data collection, and student work products.
- Collaborate frequently with EC, ML, related services, and general education teammates to effectively meet students needs, including implementing necessary accommodations and/or modifications.

- Experience in co-teaching and including students with disabilities in general education settings.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Experience managing the completion of projects with multiple stakeholders.

- Ability to communicate complex information to various audiences.
- Deep understanding of the diverse educational, social, and emotional needs of students with disabilities.

Miscellaneous
- Participation in extracurricular activities such as clubs, sports, or after-school tutoring is encouraged.
- Flexibility to take on auxiliary roles within the school as needed to support overall student engagement and success.
Reporting Structure
- You will report directly to the Assistant Principal of Student Support Services.
