Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Clear Lake
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our multidisciplinary pediatric team. In this role, you will provide direct one-on-one Occupational Therapy and Feeding Therapy services to children and adolescents under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will support clients in developing essential daily living skills, assist in customizing adaptive equipment, and closely monitor progress toward individualized goals through accurate data collection and analysis.
As a key member of our collaborative care team, you will communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, educators, and fellow pediatric specialistsincluding ABA and Speech therapiststo ensure a holistic and consistent approach to client care. The ideal candidate is patient, motivated, and experienced in working with children with autism or other special needs, with the physical ability to engage in various hands-on activities in a dynamic clinical environment.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Provide direct one-on-one Occupational therapy and Feeding therapy to children and adolescents under the direction of a supervising and licensed Occupational Therapist
- Collaborate on adaptive equipment to help clients with daily activities
- Enter and analyze data and monitor client progress toward goals
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with a treatment team including clients parents and caregivers, teachers, other pediatric disciplines, and in-house ABA therapists and Speech therapists
Requirements:
- Associates degree from an accredited occupational therapy program
- Certified by the National Board of Certification
- Compliant with the state of Iowa regulations
- Licensed to practice in the state of Iowa
- Experience working with children and adolescents with autism or special needs preferred
- The ability to adapt to various physical activities including sitting, standing, lifting, squatting, running and floor to table work based on the childs needs
