Reports to the VP or Executive Director of Operations. Responsible for managing the work of clinical and service associates to ensure high quality patient care and efficient day-to-day operations of assigned departments, including assigned off-site locations. Assists with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to improve quality and efficiency. Ensures proper maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials. Oversees introduction of new testing procedures and related protocols.

Directs the day-to-day operations of Imaging Services and other assigned departments (which includes each individual modality, as well as service and administrative support functions) by:
- Oversee imaging operations and other departments as assigned, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient workflows, and compliance with regulatory standards. Leverage data-driven insights to optimize performance, manage risk, and drive service excellence across all sites.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for service expansion, partnership development, and market growth. Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate new technologies, service lines, and strategic investments that enhance the system's competitive position.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets with a focus on cost-effectiveness and value creation. Monitor financial performance, implement corrective actions when needed, and ensure fiscal accountability across all assigned departments.
- Inspire and empower a high-performing team through effective recruitment, coaching, and professional development. Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and excellence, where employees feel valued and motivated to deliver exceptional care.
- Serve as a key liaison between assigned departments and other clinical and administrative departments. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and shared success.
- Leads and drives timely patient access across all imaging modalities and departments, ensuring efficient scheduling, coordination, and throughput.
- Participating in the development and implementation of short- and long-term goals and objectives for the departments.
- Develops, implements, and enforces departmental policies, procedures and standards for quality and efficiency.
- Scheduling and assigning workload to team members, re-establishing priorities, adjusting schedules and reassigning work as necessary.
- Interviewing, evaluating, and, when necessary, counseling or disciplining team members as directed.
- Ensuring that the team members are provided with appropriate educational opportunities to maintain and advance their competencies, in conjunction with the Medical Director and are provided with comprehensive orientation and training.
- Ensuring that the accreditation standards established by various regulatory bodies (i.e., TJC, State Board of Health, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, FDA, ACR, etc.) are maintained.
- Overseeing the maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a manner which promotes efficiency, health, comfort and regulatory agency compliance.
- Troubleshooting potential equipment problems and ensuring that repairs/maintenance are completed in a timely manner. Also ensuring that equipment down time is minimized.
- Performing productivity analysis and providing variance explanations as necessary.
- Recommending new and/or replacement equipment and other capital fund purchases. Also recommending changes to methods, procedures and protocols to improve services offered, promote cost containment, enhance performance, upgrade the department's efficiency and effectiveness and/or provide increased revenues.
Continually improves the quality and level of services provided by assigned departments by:
- Establishing a departmental quality plan which includes evaluating the accuracy and technical quality of imaging procedures; also recommending appropriate changes or actions needed to improve the quality of care. Obtains input from the Medical Director and Radiologists.
- Evaluating and monitoring the quality and effectiveness of patient care, responding to patient concerns and following up with appropriate actions.
- Recommending new services and programs to executive leadership and Medical Directors.
- Continually reviewing and analyzing departmental operations, ensuring that team members pursue excellence in providing efficient, innovative and compassionate services which meet the needs of patients and physicians.
- Arranging for and conducting training on new techniques, new equipment, etc. for the department team members. Also assessing when a team member needs remedial training and arranging for that training.
- Foster a welcoming environment and lead tours and presentations that showcase excellence in imaging technology.Ensuring that appropriate records are maintained for services provided.
- Working with executive leadership and the Marketing Department to develop appropriate marketing plans to include demographics and new radiological modalities and procedures.
- Keep abreast of changes and trends which occur in the field of assigned departments which may impact Hospital policies and procedures.
Facilitates the introduction and demonstration of new techniques, new research findings and new equipment by:
- Coordinating the installation of newly purchased equipment.
- Assisting with the development of protocols for new testing procedures; monitoring new testing procedures (and related protocols) and providing periodic status reports to executive leadership.
- Providing information to department team members regarding new developments in the field of diagnostic radiology. Also providing technical information (for example, during department in-services) regarding new research findings.
- Providing ongoing technical guidance and assistance to department team members.
Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:
- Accumulating required continuing education credits to remain in good standing by the appropriate certification bodies.
- Attending in-services, department meetings, participating in continuing education and attending conferences as approved.
- Maintaining professional affiliations as appropriate.
- Continually reviewing professional literature and attending seminars, conferences, and workshops to be familiar with changes and innovations in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Meeting with technical and service associates on a regular basis to address their questions and concerns.
- Work in one of the departments as an imaging tech at least once per month and in patient registration at least every other month.
- Completing other job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, business, radiologic science, applied science, or a related field is required. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration is required. Registered as a Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) is required. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the management of diagnostic radiology services, including supervisory experience in a hospital radiology department or healthcare environment is required. The successful completion of a masters degree in a business, healthcare administration, or healthcare related field is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Work primarily occurs in an office environment. However, there is potential exposure to radiation hazards in the clinical environment.
Physical Demands
- Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e., to remain on feet and walk for long periods of time, ability to push wheelchairs and carts, to lift or pull patients or supplies, to provide CPR, etc. and to sit for long periods of time) to perform the essential functions of the position.
