The Manager of Clinical Informatics reports to the Director of Care and manages the information technology and compliance related to resident care through coordinating the interRAI LTCF process and monitoring of quality outcomes and CIHI reports. Responsible for the quality of resident care and nursing restorative philosophy and furthermore ensures compliance through coaching, mentoring, and discipline as required. Also, this position is responsible for ensuring staff education, orientation, and mentoring to support the transfer of interRAI LTCF and Continuous Quality Improvement knowledge within the home.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for an overview of Informatics on Continuous Quality Improvement and interRAI LTCF process of new staff or studentsResponsible for education and software training to all appropriate staff members on interRAI LTCF, R=CAPS, subscale outcome measures, quality indicators, Resource Utilization Groups, and reports.Coordinates the AIS certification of all newly hired registered staff and annually thereafterWorking in consultation with management and interdisciplinary team members to develop processes that ensure data integrity, efficient data collection process, timely assessment completion and data utilizationEstablishing data quality processes to evaluate interRAI LTCF coding and relevant documentation accuracy and its timely completionIs the designated Quality Lead for the organization (if required) overseeing all aspects of the Continuous Quality Improvement Program including development, coordination and evaluation of the annual Quality Improvement Plan, Leads the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, oversee Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives and risk management activities, communicating with stakeholders, analyzing Quality and risk data, and develops and presents quality improvement data and reports.Participates in the development of the annual QIP and progress report and in quality initiatives.Required to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicatorsCoordinates the data submission process to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI)Takes the lead of the Nursing Restorative program in the homeMentors and coaches the Nursing Restorative TherapistsOrientates new staff to the philosophy, policy and criteria of Nursing Restorative CareInterprets legislative requirements to the nursing team and monitors compliance to standards through continuous quality improvement activities.Counsels staff in areas of non-compliance, inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour.In collaboration with the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care assists with the completion of staff probationary and annual performance reviews of all nursing staff,Participates in and implements learning which develops one’s own emotional selfawareness and a person-centered approach towards others.
Qualifications:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
- Registered health professional licensed under the Health Disciplines Act registered with a regulatory authority in a Canadian jurisdiction, other than Ontario, and holds in that jurisdiction the equivalent of a certificate of registration authorizing independent practice in Ontario as of right exemption Bill 60Well-developed written and oral communication skillsKnowledge and experience with adult education strategies/facilitationAbility to identify the training needs of the team and individualsProficient computer skills and strong problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work with and relate to interdisciplinary team members and other internal stakeholdersKnowledge of interRAI LTCF – AIS certified as RAI Educator; if not must be completed successfully as soon as possible, i.e. within 2 weeks.Skills and knowledge in trending and analyzing dataKnowledge of Continuous Quality ImprovementMinimum of two (2) years experience in a long-term care settingMinimum of 2 years of supervisory experience desiredTo show evidence of being focused on people’s feelings when interacting and knowing how to turn a task into positive social interaction.To undertake and meet all legal requirements within a context of promoting individuals’ rights and measuring/reducing elements of risk.Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain oneAs a condition of employment, candidates are required to submit documented results of TB testing (within the last six months or within 14 days upon hire) or a chest X-ray (within the last year), as per Public Health requirementsTwo supervisory references requiredProvide proof of all required vaccines.
