Position Location: Burgmann Anglican School, Forde Campus, Corner Francis Forde Boulevard and Hurrell Streets, Forde
Burgmann Anglican School is an Early Childhood to Year 12 School with campuses located at Gungahlin and Forde.
The school prides itself on its innovative and creative approach to curriculum and education and its strong sense of community and pastoral care of the students and their families and the staff of the school. The school has a strong link with the Gungahlin Anglican Church which shares facilities and resources with the school.
Line Management
- Responsible to the Head of Middle School and ultimately the Principal through:
- Deputy Head of Middle School (Learning and Teaching) and Deputy Head of Middle School (Culture & Wellbeing)
- Year Level Leaders
The appointee will be required to work collaboratively with a Middle School Year Level Team.
Duties
- Teach with a focus on developing higher order thinking skills
- Demonstrate a passion for effective teaching and learning
- Collaborate effectively with teaching colleagues
- Contribute effectively to curriculum development
- Liaise with students and parents
- Participate in the school's co-curricular program which may include weekend activities
- Attend staff meetings and professional development
- Support the Christian ethos of an Anglican School
- Other duties as required
Selection Criteria
- A Teaching qualification with the ability to teach Maths & Science
- Experience in teaching the Australian Curriculum and the ability to contribute effectively to curriculum development
- A passion for effective learning and teaching
- An interest in working with adolescents
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- The ability to plan a differentiated learning and teaching program aimed at meeting students' learning styles and varied academic needs
- A commitment to the ideals and ethos of Middle Schooling
- Demonstrated skill and experience in outcomes-based planning and assessment
- Demonstrated skill and experience in developing learning experiences that promote higher-order thinking
- The ability to effectively integrate ICT into classroom learning experiences
- Willingness to participate in the school's co-curricular program
Salary, Terms and Conditions
The successful applicant will be employed under the Independent Schools (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025. Salary will be determined according to qualifications and years of experience.
