About Aalo Atomics
Aalo Atomics is pioneering a new era in clean energy with factory-fabricated microreactors designed to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power. Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-edge safety, modularity, and efficiency. Based in Austin, TX, we're rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world's first fleet of advanced microreactors. Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.
About the role
We're seeking a hands-on Project Controls Engineer to build and maintain credible schedules that keep complex engineering and manufacturing work on track. You'll integrate directly with crossfunctional design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and supply chain teams to establish baselines, measure progress, and drive recoveries when the critical path is at risk. The ideal candidate blends mastery of scheduling tools (MS Project and/or Primavera P6) with clear communication and a bias for action.
What you'll do
Planning & scheduling
- Build andmaintainintegrated, resourceaware schedules in MS Project and/or Primavera P6 across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and test activities.
- Establish schedule baselines, calendars, and logic (FS/SS/FF/lag) with sound CPM practices.
- Develop short-interval lookahead schedules and rollups for executive reporting.
Progress measurement & reporting
- Collectactualsand percent completes from engineering and manufacturing teams; ensure data quality andtimelyupdates.
- Generate internal and external progress reports, milestone burndowns, and critical/nearcritical path views.
- Produce program dashboards (Gantt rollups, KPI tables) and present insights to stakeholders.
Risk, change, and recovery
- Identifyschedule risks, and support mitigation plans to accelerate the critical path.
- Support change control: evaluate schedule impacts of scope changes and recommend rebaseline whenwarranted.
- Drive recovery planning withowners;track commit dates and verify outcomes.
Crossfunctional integration
- Partner with engineering leads, manufacturing planners, and supply chain to align dependencies, lead times, and resource constraints.
- Coordinate with test operations to integrate readiness gates, qualification steps, and regulatory milestones.
Qualifications
Required
- 2–4 years in project controls, scheduling, orplanning oncomplex engineering/manufacturing programs.
- Proficiencywith MS Project (required); Primavera P6 (nice to have). Strong grasp of Critical Path Method (CPM) and dependency logic.
- Experience building schedules from work breakdown structures and integrating multiple workstreams.
- Clear, concise communication; ability to brief technical and executive audiences.
- Strong Excel skills for data wrangling and reporting.
Preferred
- Exposureto earnedvalue concepts (SPI/CPI), schedule risk analysis, and baseline/change control.
- Experience in highly regulated or hardwarecentric industries (e.g., nuclear, aerospace, energy, or semiconductors).
- Familiarity with manufacturing planning concepts (routing, lead time, capacity) and procurement integration.
- Experience with Power BI or similar for dashboards; basic scripting (e.g., Python) for data automation.
Physical
- Onsite role with regular time in engineering labs and manufacturing areas; ability to walk the floor andobservebuilds and tests.
- Occasional travel between Austin and Idaho Fallsasneeded.
