About the role
Reporting to the Head of Buying, the Junior Buyer is responsible for sourcing and developing a range of innovative and T2 brand-aligned products across our Gifting & Teaware categories that will deliver sales plans, intake margins, and overall gross profit.
You will LOVE Gifting & Teawares and demonstrate an understanding of fashion/home & gifting trends and support the product development across the categories as it relates to the T2 customer. Your passion, agility and strong organisational skills will be on show as will your sound relationship building and influencing abilities.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Buying and developing merchandise for the category with oversight from the Head of Buying
- New product development and trend identification in conjunction with the creative design team
- Analysis of range planning including making recommendations and identifying opportunities for growth
- Maintaining and developing effective supplier relationships ensuring auditing requirements are met including brand alignment and sustainability
- Managing Samples including providing briefs to suppliers and cost negotiation
- Quality control including reviewing and signing off all development and PP samples to ensure they meet T2's quality standards.
About you
- Fashion/Design/Merchandising diploma or Business/Commerce degree
- Previous experience in the homewares and/or retail industry in a similar role
- Understanding of buying and planning principals as well as critical path
- Proven direct sourcing experience with suppliers and an understanding of product construction materials, ingredients, and packaging
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness and knowledge of quality control
- Strong communication and presentation skills
