Position Title: Manager of Museum Membership and Community Relations

Position Summary
The Manager of Museum Membership and Community Relations serve as the primary ambassador for the National Medal of Honor Museum’s membership program and community engagement initiatives. This role is responsible for strengthening relationships with Museum members, community partners, and regional organizations to grow participation, enhance loyalty, and elevate the Museum’s presence and reputation throughout the community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Membership Management & Engagement
- Oversee all aspects of the Museum’s membership program, including recruitment, renewals, retention, and member satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records within the Museum’s CRM/database system.
- Develop and distribute regular member communications, including newsletters, renewal reminders, event invitations, and special offers.
- Collaborate with marketing and Guest Services teams to ensure consistent and engaging member messaging across all channels.
- Analyze membership data to identify trends, growth opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Member Events & Programming
- Coordinate exclusive events, previews, and recognition opportunities in partnership with the Marketing, Guest Services, and Operations teams.
- Manage member participation in Museum programs, ensuring accurate tracking of member benefits, discounts, and registration processes.
- Support Museum-wide events by assisting with member check-in, communications, and follow-up engagement.
Community Relations
- Serve as a Museum representative at community and regional events, meetings, and partnership activities.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local organizations, chambers of commerce, tourism partners, and civic groups to enhance awareness and support for the Museum.
- Identify and pursue community engagement opportunities that align with the Museum’s mission and strategic goals.
- Act as a liaison between the Museum and external partners, fostering positive visibility and collaboration.
Collaboration & Administration
- Work closely with internal departments (Event Sales, Marketing, and Guest Services) to align membership and community initiatives with Museum Foundation’s priorities.
- Develop reports, presentations, and metrics to track progress and outcomes related to membership and community engagement.
- Assist in developing annual membership goals, budgets, and strategies to drive sustainable growth and engagement.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Museum Studies, Public Relations, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in membership management, community relations, or nonprofit engagement (museum or cultural institution experience preferred).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and a customer-service mindset.
- Experience working with CRM or donor management systems (e.g. Salesforce, or similar).
- Ability to represent the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation professionally and enthusiastically in public settings.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay and Benefits
Competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan with employer match.
