Job Purpose
The purpose of an engineer program manager is to oversee comprehensive engineering projects and customized automation integration plans from start to finish. This involves planning, executing and monitoring projects to ensure they meet quality, budget, and timeline goals. Leading cross-functions teams, managing resources, and communication with stakeholders, customers and automation engineers and technicians assigned to each project as well as supply chain schedules to meet project requirements. Involves setting up quality control process, reviewing work regularly, and ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly. Manage activities, resource capability, and to identify and improve process and program efficiencies.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Responsible for the planning and oversight of confirmed Automation & Robotic engineering projects to ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
- Ownership of the key elements of engineering program management best practices, including scope, hours (budgeted vs actual by segment) cost, schedule, quality, resources, risk, communication, procurement, and stakeholders.
- Drive end-to-end execution of engineering projects, from concept to final deployment while managing program budgets, familiar with F.A.T. and S.A.T. requirements.
- Plan timeline of workflow, monitor progress, and keep key stakeholders informed throughout the life of the project for cross-functional alignment throughout the program launch.
- Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.
- Provide solutions to issues (supply chain disruptions, scrap/rework, contingency plans, additional hours needed applied to project, etc.)
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant client stakeholders, providing week-to-week communication on project status and changes.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
- Coordinate with other departments such as accounting, inventory or shipping to ensure that customer orders are processed quickly and accurately.
- Follow up with clients after meetings to ensure that they have received all of the information they need and are satisfied with the services provided.
- Identify and build out process workflow improvements, including the leveraging of our existing Sage X3 ERP &/or QuickBase project management software to meet the department's needs.
- Provide reports and documentation of the project outcomes and lessons learned.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and program efficiencies.
- Mentor project coordinator while fostering a culture of engineering excellence
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required, engineering or science focus preferred
- Professional certification, such as PMP, PE, or equivalent preferred.
- Customer Service / Sales experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Engineer Project Management experience is preferred.
- Proven success working with key stakeholders including all levels of management and engineering.
- Experience in developing platforms for internal processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project Management software, CRM software, Business Intelligence.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A Valid Driver's License is required.
