Crescent is seeking three (3) Summer Associates to be located in Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Summer Associate position will provide a diversified exposure to pre-construction, active construction and project close out based on the lifecycle of current projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide assistance with day-to-day management and coordination of construction activities.
- Provide input on schedule and constructability issues
- Participate in design and development meetings
- Review and redline selected plans and specifications
- Assist in preparation of bid packages for contractors and review pricing
- Participate in pre-bid and pre-construction conferences
- Partner with Superintendents on overall development schedules
- Assist in procurement of municipality approvals and permits
- Assist in coordination of power, phone, cable, and gas installation
- Participate in submittal and RFI process
- Attend project meetings (OAC, trade partner meetings, RFI/Submittal, Schedule)
- Assist with formatting and processing change orders
- Assist in preparation of internal monthly project reports
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Minimum:
- Undergraduate with a major in Construction Management
- Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Proven organizational skills
- Collaborative style and enjoys teamwork
Work Environment (Construction):
- Professional environment
- Typical working hours are M-F, 8:00am – 5:00pm (alternate schedule may apply)
- Ability to carry 25+ pounds (computer, files, site debris, etc.) with or without accommodations.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Project site exposure to dust, miscellaneous allergens, sunlight, extreme temperatures, noise moving machinery and other natural and environmental exposures.
- Ability to maneuver through a construction site
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Communicate and converse to exchange information
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard, phone, calculator and other office equipment with or without accommodations.
- Seeing to read a variety of materials
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to transport 10-25 lbs. (computer, files, etc.)
- Move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Ability to work under stressful, fast-paced conditions
