Insurance Verification ClerkPosition Summary:
Performs all functions necessary to ensure accurate and timely verification of insurance benefits from all third-party resources
Qualifications:
A. Education:
High School diploma or equivalent upon hire or transfer to the department
B. Training and Experience:
Prior experience in the medical field is preferred. Knowledge of but not limited to, admission/registration process, receivables management, credit and collection laws, billing forms, medical billing regulations, insurance benefits calculations, HMO/PPO contracts, third party funding resources.
C. Job Knowledge:
General knowledge of medical business office practices. Strong communication skills. Basic understanding of business application software. Ability to maintain a calm temperament under stressful conditions. Good math skills, deductive reasoning and general office machine operations.
