We need a professional to provide comprehensive behavioral health services, including diagnostic assessments, clinical therapy, discharge planning, and crucial resource coordination. This Full-Time 1099 Contract / Locum Tenens opportunity offers stability, cultural connection, and professional fulfillment in an outpatient behavioral health setting.
Schedule & Details:
- 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- No weekends, holidays, overtime or on-call
- Full-time hours
- Can work off any US license
- Up to 1 year initial contract with optional extensions
- Outpatient psychiatry with possible telepsychiatry opportunities
- Multiple openings in the Navajo Area

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to individuals, families, and groups.
- Develop and implement individualized care and treatment plans.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up with internal and external providers.
- Provide consultation and support to interdisciplinary medical staff.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the IHS EHR system.
- Deliver culturally responsive care consistent with Navajo traditions and beliefs.

Additional Duties:
Additional responsibilities may be added as needed to support clinic operations and community programs. This job description does not imply that these are the only duties to be performed. Contractors must follow all other job-related instructions as assigned by the Behavioral Health Director or designated supervisor.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited institution
- Active, unrestricted LCSW license in any U.S. state or territory
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, preferably with adolescents
- Experience in substance use, trauma-informed care, and dual diagnosis treatment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must pass a Level I and II fingerprint-based federal background investigation
- Knowledge of DSM and ICD criteria and behavioral health best practices
- Experience with Native American or tribal health systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily in the United States
- Willing to comply with all state, federal, and IHS regulations for social work services
- Must complete required IHS training, including child protection, trauma-informed care, and security awareness
