Glass Roots Construction (GRC) was founded by a team of well-funded career telecom and construction professionals. The Construction Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations and have the opportunity to join a dynamic team, gain valuable experience, and be part of the exciting growth at GRC!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage day to day construction activities of a fiber optic utility network.
- Work directly with the market manager to ensure safe and quality construction practices are being met by our internal and subcontract crews.
- You will be in the field working alongside the crews 75% of your day.
- Field verifies all construction progress as the work is completed.
- Field verification entails using a utility locator to identify depth and offsets of all newly placed conduit, vaults, etc.
- Collect pictures, bore logs, and other data from crews to support customer Quality Control requirements.
- Learn and apply all quality metrics to ongoing and completed work to ensure that finished construction product meets customer, municipality, and environmental specifications and requirements.
- Night work (shifts) on rotation
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have at least 3 years' experience working with and around directional drilling crews in the utility construction industry.
- Must have supervisory experience.
- Ability to work constructively with Environmental Monitors, DOT/OSHA, Municipalities, and other stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of utility construction practices and terminology.
- Able to read, interpret and adjust various construction drawings/prints.
- Experience with locating systems.
- Strong computer skills.
- Experience in data management.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- A valid driver's license is required for all positions.

- Process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with Google Suite and other data entry software.

- Compensation range: $80,000 - $90,000 + 15% bonus
- Target start date: 2-3 weeks from offer
