What are the typical hours on the job?
The hours of operation for the Neurosurgery clinic are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients.
What does an RN do?
As a RN, you will provide patient care under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner or other advanced practice provider.
What does a typical day on the job look like?
- Accurate and timely in carrying out specific verbal or written orders (possibly in the form of protocols or standing orders) generated and signed by a physician. Competently assesses and counsels’ patients. Administers medication and treatment and performs procedures, as prescribed by a physician.
- Efficiently schedules patient procedures. Correctly and appropriately relays test preparation instructions, hospital registration requirements, and physician instructions to patients in a timely manner. Thoroughly educates and explains procedures and treatment plan to patients and caregivers.
- Competently assists providers to maximize patient volume. Returns patient calls in a timely manner. Documents patient care accurately and timely. Performs EMR tasks correctly and timely.
- Works and communicates effectively with all providers. Coordinates and assists in the delivery of a plan of health care with all care team members. Promotes teamwork. Providers great customer service in person and on the telephone.

What are the requirements for the job?
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Current Missouri Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a physician’s office setting, preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association.
- Basic office skills, patient centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in fast paced environment.
