Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will work closely with the Patient Care Coordinator to deliver high-quality patient care. You will receive assignments from the Patient Care Coordinator and follow the nursing process methodically, which includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Your collaboration with the Patient Care Coordinator will be evident through your thorough documentation in the Patient Care Record, direct observations by the Unit Director, and feedback from patients about the care they receive.
You will be accountable to the Patient Care Coordinator for patient care and ultimately answerable to the Unit Director. Your role will require you to apply your knowledge and skills to provide care tailored to the age of the patients you serve. Additionally, you should demonstrate an understanding of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess patient data to identify their specific needs based on age. Your performance should align with the department's Performance Standards.

- Consistently educates patients and family on equipment, medications, safety, pain control, and discharge needs.
- Is competent to access and utilize the EMR for the provision of patient care.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to safely and appropriately fulfill job specific responsibilities related to safety, security, emergency preparedness, control of hazardous materials, life safety, and utility systems as outlined in the hospital’s environment of care plan.
- Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patients, from pediatric to adult in performance of duties and responsibilities.
- Possess critical thinking ability.
- Able to safely utilize equipment including, but not limited to: Automated Blood Pressure Machine, Perform Manual Blood Pressure, Defibrillator, Portable and Wall Suction, Glucometer, Automated SCD Pump, IV Pump, Feeding Pump, Patient Warmer, Blood/ Fluid Warmer, Telemetry Monitor, Patient Beds, Omni-cell Med dispenser.
- Completes OTIS reports as needed.
- Properly documents restraints per policy and relevant care plan charting per shift.
- Keeps a clean, safe, quiet, and efficient work environment.
- Able to safely and effectively care for the patient placed on a 72-hour hold.
- Proficient in drawing labs.
- Exhibits competency of central line care, IV insertion/care and blood transfusions.
- Notifies PCC of any concerns or unresolved complaints immediately.
- Behaviors and interactions demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative, and motivation to achieve the department's goals.
- Champions the development and growth of safety culture.
- Participates in all competencies planned for the job role before deadlines.
- Complies with the departmental and facility policy.
- Follows the policies in the Employee Handbook.

- Required appropriate use of the department’s communication app.
- The spreading of rumors and gossip creates unnecessary turmoil, weakens working relationships, and is contrary to the spirit of the hospital and is prohibited.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized accredited non-online RN program.
Work Experience:
One year medical/surgical nursing care preferred, but not required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
