RN Emergency Dept
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
 
Responsibilities:
	- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
 
	- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
 
	- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
 
	- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
 
Licensure / Certification / Registration: 
	- Required Credential(s): 
	
		- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
 
		- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
 
		- Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
 
		- Licensed Registered Nurse obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
 
		- One or more of the following: 
		
			- Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma Nurse obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
 
			- Advanced Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date. 
 
		
		 
	
	 
	- Preferred Credential(s): 
	
		- Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Nursing Pediatrics. 
 
	
	 
Education: 
	- The Registered Nurse must have an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) or RN Diploma at start date. 
 
	- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. AND 2 years current Emergency Department experience required. 
 
	- If no qualified applicants apply may be willing to consider applicants without experience.
