About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AV Lab Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for hands-on assembly and disassembly, executing software commands, contributing to experimental design, and providing technical support to internal teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical aptitude, a problem-solving mindset, and a desire to learn and expand their skillset in a dynamic lab environment.
What you'll do
Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Assembly & Technical Troubleshooting:
- Assemble and disassemble complex systems and equipment.
- Perform in-depth mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Develop and document assembly and disassembly procedures.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of experimental setups.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in following and developing technical instructions.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to internal teams, assisting with experimental setup, execution, and analysis.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to lab equipment and processes.
- Document technical findings and solutions.
- IT & Hardware Support:
- Perform intermediate IT tasks, such as troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and network configuration.
- Assist with setting up, maintaining, and optimizing computer equipment.
- Utilize and expand advanced computer skills, including Linux command line, scripting, and data analysis tools.
- Disassemble and reassemble computer hardware, displays, and specialized equipment.
- Other:
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute experiments, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new lab processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong technical literacy and competency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Willingness to learn new skills, particularly in specialized lab techniques, IT, and computer systems.
- Experience in a lab environment is a plus.
Salary based on experience: $38.00 to $43.00 per hour
