Advanced Practice Provider-Anesthesia/Pre-Admission Testing

Crouse’sNurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA) team is a multi-disciplinary group that provides care to patients through various services including anesthesia/pre-admission testing, cardiology, diabetes, gastroenterology, general surgery, hospitalist, nephrology, neurosciences, orthopedics and palliative medicine. The NP/PA team is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider.
Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm
Pay Range:
Advanced Practice Provider Position Responsibilities:
- This position well specialize in pre-anesthesia patient care.
- Assist the attending anesthesiologists and surgeons by providing pre-operative patient care for patients in all adult age groups requiring anesthetic interventions.
- Consult with other health care professionals to obtain information or services relevant to the pre-anesthesia process. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Performing and completing full history and physicals.
- Assigning American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA’s) physical status classification for individual patients.
- Educating patients on different anesthesia modalities and the perioperative process;
- Orders and interprets appropriate preoperative laboratory tests.
- Radiographic studies and/or specialist clearances as determined by the patients past medical history and current evaluation.
- Prescribe and evaluate patient medications and document using electronic medical record systems.
Advanced Practice Provider Position Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioner candidates must be currently licensed in Family Practice medicine and have a current license as a Registered Nurse.
- Physician Assistant candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and have a current license.
- Candidates who do not possess a current professional license but have the ability to possess a license may be considered.
- Current BLS and ACLS certificationsrequired.
- A minimum of 2 years practicing as a NP/PA in surgery, cardiology or internal medicine preferred.
- Experience in anesthesia pre-operative clinic, pre-admission testing or surgical equivalent preferred.
