Practice Supervisor

Job Summary: The Practice Supervisor is responsible for coordination of day-to-day operations and provides administrative support to the practice administrator and clinical providers.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and provides day-to-day supervision necessary to run an effective and efficient medical practice.
- Acts as a consultant and clinical resource to providers through provision of patient care and coordination of care.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of the office staff, including work assignments, breaks, lunches, and weekly schedules.
- Resolves office issues and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional atmosphere. Serves as a liaison between staff and management to identify issues that require attention, solve problems, and review overall operations.
- Oversees patient check in, check out procedures, and scheduling.
- Handles patient questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner.
- Monitors inventory of medical/office supply and places orders if necessary.
- Maintains good working relationships and effective communication both within the department and with other departments.
- Confers with external parties, Practice Administrator and IT to resolve technical problems related to facilities management, computers, and other office equipment.
- Participates in providing/seeking opportunities for continuing education to staff, performance improvement, and continuous quality improvement activities for the office.
- Monitors performance regularly and conducts annual performance evaluations on all staff.
- Collaborates with Human Resources on employee relations issues, compensation, employment policies, etc.
- Maintains a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment.
- Respects patients by recognizing their rights; maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilizes technology, including specialized software as applicable, to maximize productivity.
- Performs word processing; creates Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations; prepares reports.
- Develops and maintains electronic files as necessary.
- Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously; solicits, researches, and compiles supporting materials for projects; follows through on issues in a timely manner.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills; provides customer service; assists other support staff as necessary; collaborates with all levels of internal leadership, management, and staff as well as outside clients, vendors, and other external parties.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of medical office experience required. Previous medical administration/management experience preferred.
Education:High school diploma or equivalent required. Associated Degree, preferred.
Licenses / Certifications:
Other: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
