Job Title: Accountant / General Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary:
The Accountant / General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of the company's financial reporting. This position will handle general ledger accounting, prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes. The role requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries to the general ledger
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and variance analysis.
- Analyze financial data and trends to ensure accuracy and integrity of reporting.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred; experience in a general ledger or financial reporting role is a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Work Environment:
This position typically operates in an office environment. Occasional extended hours may be required during peak financial periods.
