Acts on behalf of the organization, providing supervision for all staff members within the department. Participates in the hiring process and makes recommendations for disciplinary action as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of and assures compliance with accrediting/regulatory agency standards, hospital/departmental policies and procedures, operations and budget responsibilities.

Current Leadership experience required

Three years of Emergency Department experience required

BSN Required; MSN preferred

Licensure & Certifications:

NRP – Trama RN courses required within six months
-
TNCC – Neonatal Resuscitation required within six months

Experience working with EMS community.
-
Knowledge of trauma service needs.
-
Experience with electronic medical record and clinical documentation systems required.

Knowledge of software applications (Outlook, Microsoft) required.

Maintain professionalism and act as role model.

Demonstrates leadership and communicates a strong work ethic and commitment toward service excellence.

Excellent interpersonal skills; communicates effectively in the English language with patients, family members, physicians, senior leadership and staff.

Well organized and able to prioritize a variety of complex assignments simultaneously. Meets deadlines in a timely manner.

Demonstrates understanding of local, state and federal regulating agencies (DCF, DPH, TJC).

Demonstrates dependability and transparency.

Documented effectiveness in confronting problems and resolving conflict.

Ability to interpret and administer policies in a fail and consistent manner.
