SCOPE – DRIVER - CDL
A Class A Commercial Driver's License – CDL Truck Driver drives a tractor with trailers on public streets or highways to transport product interstate or Intrastate. Requires a valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and passage of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations exam and Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. Drivers may or may not participate in loading/unloading depending on the receiver's “Driver Unloading Policy” but are responsible for securing the load using approved devices and methods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – DRIVER - CDL
- Closely check the quality and count of each order as it loads and unloads.
- Follow all D.O.T rules and regulations.
- Conduct required pre-trip and post trip inspections.
- Always Operate vehicle in a safe manner.
- Complete all necessary paperwork timely and accurately.
- Maintain communications with dispatch and report damages, shortages, overages etc.
- Follow all company procedures as documented in “JTM Truck Drivers procedure manual.”
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
SUCCESS CRITERIA -– DRIVER - CDL
- Safety/GMP/Food Safety/Quality policies followed.
- BRC Compliance.
- Reporting accuracy.
- Customer requirements.
- Attendance requirements met.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS – DRIVER - CDL
- Minimum 2 years (no less than 24 months) of recent Class A experience.
- No convictions for Reckless Driving within the past 5 years.
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years.
- No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years.
- Ability to build strong relationships, provide excellent customer service, and problem solve.
