The Department of Neuropsychology and Psychology at Casa Colina is currently recruiting for a full-time licensed clinical social worker or marriage and family therapist. This position will be primarily staffing our Transitional Living Center, which is a post-acute rehabilitation unit with both residential and day treatment programs primarily serving patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injuries, though some hours may also be used in other parts of our continuum of care.
This clinician’s primary responsibilities will include initial psychosocial evaluation, risk assessment, and screening for psychological and relational disorders, along with the provision of individual, family, and group psychotherapeutic services, and participation within the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Patients have a primary medical diagnosis (e.g., traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, other neurological or medical conditions) and may have comorbid psychological disorders or adjustment disorders. This position requires a strong understanding of traumatic brain injury, stroke, general rehabilitation principles, health psychology, and co-occurring psychological disorders. This position will liaison between case management and Neuropsychology/Psychology to aid patients in accessing community resources available to them by guiding them clinically to better develop these skills for themselves. This may include aiding patients in setting up appointments with Social Security or Disability, problem-solving through breakdowns in care with treatment team, pharmacy, or other aspects of care, and working through barrier to discharge.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a breadth of experience in assessment and psychotherapeutic treatment with individuals and families. Applicants must hold a master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related field and have an unrestricted license to practice in California. One year professional experience in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation setting preferred. Candidates who are competent in conducting assessment and treatment in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.
