Position Summary
Supports patient care by assisting with activities of daily living as delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN). Keeps the nursing staff informed of changes in patient condition and contributes to exceptional patient experiences by demonstrating Beacon’s core values: Respect, Trust, Integrity, and Compassion. Functions within a relationship-based care model and reports to the Unit Director.

Patient Care Delivery
Clinical Care

Accurately obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, height, weight, blood glucose, and reports abnormalities promptly

Transports and delivers blood products and specimens per policy

Performs hourly rounding and promptly responds to call lights

Provides 1:1 care when assigned
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Assists with hygiene, grooming, feeding, and mobility

Ensures patient safety and comfort

Supports nutritional needs and verifies dietary compliance

Accurately documents all patient care provided

Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
Minimum age: 17 years
-
Previous patient care experience preferred

Nurse Assistant certification preferred
-
Must obtain BCLS (CPR) within 3 months of hire and maintain certification

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

May encounter moderate stress related to patient volume, acuity, or staffing

Potential exposure to infectious diseases and occasionally combative patients

Requires physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods, push/pull up to 50 lbs, and assist in lifting patients (up to 35 lbs solo; over 35 lbs with assistance)

Must be able to perform CPR and other physical tasks related to patient care
