This part time position works various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This role assists the Guest Experiences Manager in managing multiple facilities and operational duties as assigned in the East Region, including but not limited to the Boathouse, Welcome Techs, and Campground. This role's focus is on the Boathouse and Welcome Booths but will also assist with Campground operations and duties as needed.
This position will do the following:
- Assist the Guest Experience Manager in the leading of the Guest Experience personnel in performance of job duties and responsibilities. Directs tasks, provides direction and ensures quality guest experiences. May be required to work fill-in shifts for absences and provide assistance during peak activity times.
- Assists in hiring part-time Guest Experience staff members.
- Trains and assists with the scheduling of part-time staff and enforces work rules such as dress and personal hygiene requirements. Refers serious disciplinary issues to the Guest Experience Manager(s).
- Oversees events and activities at Lake Isabella and other East Region Park locations and assist in other Regions.
- Receives and resolves guest concerns and complaints. Analyzes and promptly resolves problems. Implements corrective actions or provides recommendations to manager.
- Monitors food, beverage, merchandise and smallware inventory levels and orders inventory needs. Conducts scheduled inventory counts. Tracks and controls food waste and merchandise returns.
- Reviews invoices and adheres to purchasing card procedures and submits expenditures for supervisor approval.
- Enforces food and beverage preparation requirements to ensure quality service and food product to customers.
- Ensures cleanliness and sanitary conditions of all facilities responsible for, including food service, boathouse, visitor centers, gardens, play areas, barn yard areas and equestrian facilities.
- Assists in promoting food and merchandise sales through daily public relation contacts with customers and development of promotions, special events and merchandising.
- Prevents alcohol abuse by guests and handles intoxicated patrons according to procedures established by the TIPs Alcohol Awareness Training Program.
- Accounts for daily cash transactions. Complies with all cash handling policies and enforces cash control procedures including; POS operations, Outbound program and reservation entrée, daily deposits, shift/change tills, required logs and cash audits.
- Acts as manager on duty in absence of facility or regional manager.
- Performs job duties in accordance with Great Parks’ policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
- Maintains confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:
High School Diploma or GED required with at least (4) years’ experience which evidences knowledge of management principles. At least 19 years of age.
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
ServSafe Food and TIPS Alcohol Service Certification within (1) year of employment. Ohio boating operations license within (1) year of employment. License requirements are relevant to direct facility responsibilities.
State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets GPHC current carrier guidelines
