Position Summary
As a Field Service Engineer with Tube Tech, you will be the face of our technical excellence, providing critical onsite and remote support for advanced laser and fabrication systems. This position requires a proactive problem solver who can work independently, diagnose complex issues, and deliver outstanding service to customers in manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
? Serve as the primary technical support representative for Tube Tech's equipment installations and customer service needs.
? Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laser cutting, tube bending, and automated machinery in the field.
? Perform system installations, upgrades, and routine maintenance at customer sites.
? Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to assist in repairs and installations.
? Deliver on-site and virtual customer training on proper machine usage and safety protocols.
? Provide technical feedback to improve machine performance and customer satisfaction.
? Assist in live demonstrations and test cuts for potential clients.
? Collaborate with engineering teams and international partners for escalated support needs.
? Attend industry trade shows, demo events, and Tube Tech-sponsored showcases.
? Maintain detailed service logs and submit timely service reports and expense records.
Qualifications
Required:
? Associate degree or higher in Mechatronics, Automation, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
? Minimum of 2 years' experience in field service for CNC or laser systems.
? Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.
? Clear, professional communication and documentation skills.
? Ability to travel frequently and lift up to 50 lbs.
? Comfortable working independently in non-standard environments.
Preferred:
? Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field.
? 5+ years of hands-on service experience.
? Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or related engineering software.
? Bilingual (English/Mandarin or Spanish) a plus.
Locations & Travel
Remote work available in: IN, OH, MI, IL, WI, TN, KY, MO, and surrounding Midwest states.
Extensive travel required (75%+).
