ABOUT US:
Nasittuq Corporation (from the Inuktitut word meaning “looking out from the highest point”) operates and maintains the North Warning System (NWS), a vital Canada-US radar network consisting of 47 sites across Northern Canada the NWS provides continuous aerospace surveillance to detect airborne threats in the northern region.
Our operations include a head office in Ottawa, a Support Centre and Control Centre in North Bay, ON. The Control Centre functions 24/7 within the NORAD Region/Sector Air Operations remotely monitoring and controlling all 47 radar sites. Our technicians work closely with the crews across the northern sites to ensure system reliability, supporting both Canadian and US armed forces personnel in their mission-critical operations.

Summary:
Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) / Trainer is responsible for providing technical support and training on Facilities systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the maintenance of NWS systems, including but not limited to, power generation, electrical distribution, HVAC Systems, water & sewage systems and fire alarm/suppression systems.
- Provides remote technical support to technicians and /engineers located at the northern sites and/or in North Bay or Ottawa
- Develop course training standards according to Statement of Work requirements and updates in equipment/systems
- Determine course content according to objectives
- Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets, etc.)
- Execute training sessions, webinars, workshops etc. in groups or individually
- Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action
Who You Are:
Education:
Completion of postsecondary program in an electromechanical systems or CF military equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience on the job training working in a commercial or industrial setting. Previous experience developing and conducting technical training would be an asset.
Knowledge of:
- Strong knowledge of building electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building structural systems, with the ability to read and interpret related drawings and manuals.
- Proficiency in the use of commercial test equipment and tools used in troubleshooting and repair of Facilities systems.
