Hours for the Position - Monday through Friday; 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Position Summary:
Maintains outside films and reports for inpatients and outpatients. Prepares films for physician review when necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience: Familiarity with medical terminology
• Skills & Abilities: Excellent organization and customer service skills. Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule accordingly while meeting established deadlines. Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. The ability to determine or interpret work procedures for a group of workers, assigning specific duties to them, maintaining harmonious relations among them and promoting efficiency. Able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, dependability, and strong attention to detail both mechanically and technically. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position. General knowledge of extracting information from database systems preferred. Possess above-average problem-solving skills, judgment, and flexibility.
Essential Functions:

- Completes all mandatory education (10 hours).
- Take responsibility for your own professional growth and development to maintain competency and currency in practice.
- Completes the designated competency packet
- Assists with the orientation of new staff and functions as a preceptor and mentor.
- Participates in annual peer review of coworkers.
- Successfully complete self-learning assignments in a timely manner.

- Is knowledgeable about emergency procedures and how to enact them when needed.
- Understands Universal Precautions and practices them at all times.
- Is current in the use of PACS system and can retrieve any imaging study requested for review by medical staff or Nurse Practitioner.
- Maintains all medical imaging files for inpatient and active outpatients.
- Can make CD of any film requested by patients or staff.
- Runs x-ray rounds efficiently.
- Distributes/files x-ray reports.
- Maintains records for all films out on loan to other facilities or to Craig.
- Communicates to HIM all films out on loan longer than planned.
- Maintains x-ray storage room neatly and organized.
- All personnel will use hand hygiene upon entering and leaving a patient's room; before and after individual patient care procedures, before and after group patient activity, after hands are contaminated with any body fluids, secretions, or excretions.
- All Craig staff will take responsibility to inform patients, family, and visitors of the importance of hand hygiene in the healthcare and community environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
