Overview:
As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will abstract new patient and hospital followup charts. Your work helps ensure patient records are complete, clear, and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe medical records.
- Edit transcripts for clarity, grammar, and accuracy.
- Protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA regulations.
- Work with healthcare staff to clarify unclear recordings.
- Organize and manage transcription files.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous transcription experience, ideally in healthcare.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical transcription.
- Experience using transcription software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
Skills Needed:
- Excellent listening and typing skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to understand medical terms.
- Familiarity with transcription tools is a plus.
Work Environment:
Medical clinic setting with clinical hours
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands frequently. May need to lift up to 25 pounds.
