Job Summary:

Salary: 1,200,000 Rwf Gross salary

Kigali Farms is seeking an experienced, organized, and driven Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all plant operations at our Musanze site. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the daily running of the facility and the successful implementation of administrative, financial, quality, procurement, HR, and logistics systems. You will ensure the highest levels of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety while supporting all departments to deliver top-quality production.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Budgets (25%)
- Develop, monitor, and manage monthly and annual operational budgets.
- Track and control expenses to ensure alignment with targets.
- Generate and analyze financial and operational reports to identify areas for improvement.
Procurement & Inventory (25%)
- Coordinate procurement of raw materials, packaging, and equipment.
- Manage inventory to align with production schedules and avoid shortages or. overstocking.
Maintenance & Equipment (15%)
- Oversee the Maintenance Manager; ensure production equipment is maintained and promptly repaired or replaced.
- Monitor asset condition and develop preventive maintenance schedules.
HR & Admin (10%)
- Supervise administrative and HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external labor laws.
- Conduct regular team appraisals and coaching sessions.
Quality Control (10%)
- Supervise the QC Manager; ensure HACCP and safety standards are implemented and continuously improved.
- Monitor product consistency and analyze waste or rejections to identify quality trends and risks.
Logistics & Control Functions (15%)
- Coordinate internal and outbound logistics.
- Implement control systems to improve tracking and accountability across departments.
General Plant Management
- Lead daily operations of the facility, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Promote and monitor worker safety and plant compliance.
- Build and maintain good relationships with local authorities and communities.
- Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and annual reports on operations, productivity, and finances.
Qualifications
- Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in operations or plant management, preferably in agriculture, food processing, or manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, team management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Solid understanding of budgeting, procurement, and quality control systems.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; ability to develop and implement operational KPIs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluency in English and Kinyarwanda required.
