WEEKEND NIGHTS - Saturday and Sunday–12-hour shift
Position Purpose: Secretarial support and customer service for staff, physicians, patients, and visitors on inpatient psychiatry units.
Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures):
1. Monitors front desk activities including answering telephone, paging physicians, routing calls and providing appropriate information to staff, patients and visitors.
2. Performs clerical duties related to unit data and patient records from admission through discharge.
3. Performs clerical and computer order entry duties.
4. Ordering, monitoring and expediting the delivery of services.
5. Orders and organizes unit supplies, forms, and healthcare supplies.
Marginal Functions (list in order of importance)
- Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective departments while adhering to the Hospital’s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
- Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures, including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
- Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required.

- High school education and additional technical training as required
- At least 2 years of experience in an office or medical setting
- Proven organization skills
- · Excellent customer service skills
- Willingness to work in an empathic manner with psychiatric patients and families
