Director of Childcare Services

The Director of Childcare Services provides visionary leadership and oversees all aspects of the Holzer Childcare Center’s operations, ensuring strategic direction, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of exceptional, developmentally appropriate programs. This role is dedicated to meeting the needs of children, families, and Holzer Health System staff by fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for infants through preschoolers.
Initially, the Director will lead the center from conception to launch—collaborating with building contractors during construction, shaping the business model, and developing comprehensive policies, procedures, pricing structures, budgets, and accreditation plans. Responsibilities include classroom setup, recruitment and training of staff, and orchestrating all preparations necessary for a successful opening.
Once operational, the Director will manage ongoing center activities, including staff supervision, curriculum development, licensing, budgeting, family engagement, and continuous quality improvement. Through collaborative leadership and a commitment to excellence, the Director ensures the Holzer Childcare Center consistently provides high-quality care and educational experiences that support each child’s growth and well-being.
Education and Work Experience
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in early childhood education, including at least two (2) years in a leadership or administrative capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to meet all applicable regulatory and organizational standards.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience in opening or expanding a childcare facility.
• Familiarity with Ohio’s Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) system and Early Childhood Management Software (e.g., Procare, Brightwheel).
