If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a full-time (40 hrs/wk) Mobile Crisis Co-Response Clinician!
What You Will Be Doing
Working as a Mobile Crisis Co-Response Clinician co-located with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, you will be responsible for working as a team to see individuals in the community to complete crisis interventions, safety planning and assessing for appropriate level of care. You will be working in the community with other clinicians, peers, community health workers and law enforcement. You will work in a variety of emergency settings including individual homes, crisis housing, homeless shelters, emergency rooms as well as other community-based settings. You will also be well versed in Recovery Philosophy and application of Peer Supportive Systems of care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills (written & verbal) experience with Serious Mental Illness, co-occurring substance use disorders and the criminal justice system. This position is grant-funded with funding currently through September 30, 2028.
We will be hiring for the second shift position, and you will be eligible for shift premiums - schedule preference can be discussed in the interview.
Schedule Options Available
Four Days a Week (Four 10-hour shifts)
Tuesday – Friday: 2:00 pm – 12:00 am
OR
Five Days a Week (Five 8-hour shifts)
Monday – Friday: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am
What We Require
You will have a minimum of one to two years’ experience working in a clinical setting. You will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, a Master’s degree is preferred. You’ll have extensive knowledge of the DMS IV diagnostic criteria, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, evidence-based and promising practice interventions, and familiarity with psychotropic medications, experience with involuntary hospitalization procedures and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A valid Michigan Motor Vehicle Operator's license and reliable transportation are required. Preferred Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Limited License Psychologist (LLP), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW); Those with limited licensure and/or a Bachelor’s degree will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
