Courier Services Coordinator
Position Summary:
Responsible for a seamless courier network that links all internal and external services within Kootenai Health. Oversee all route sheets to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of routes. Trouble shoots and communicates potential hurdles in daily services to accommodate for emergent needs to courier staff.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures all couriers follow all policies and procedures as well as educate clients on standards and procedures for utilization of the courier services
- Review items for transport and determine the proper destination of said items and coordinates deliver times with all clients
- Daily assigns routes to appropriate courier to ensure timely, accurate and safe delivery of items
- Oversees and monitors of transports of supplies including blood, cash, specimens and pharmaceuticals between the hospital, departments and contracted physician offices
- Oversees mileage and trip statistics for all couriers and provides monthly reports to Supervisor of department
- May direct the work of others and is responsible for service in the absence of the Supervisor
- Performs a variety of tasks
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver's license with no restrictions
- Minimum of 2 year of delivery experience required
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience required
- Safe driving record
- Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding the governing of motor vehicles in the State of Idaho
- Knowledge of geographic locations, vehicle routing opportunities and traffic conditions within the service area
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing heavy equipment
