GME Coordinator
This position is responsible for supporting the Medical Education office in the continued accreditation and function of graduate medical education programs. This position will assist in the operational management and administrative support functions for educational programs and the medical education pipeline at Archbold Memorial Hospital. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a high degree of initiative and independent judgment; and a desire to develop a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of national accreditation requirements and program specific policy. Responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks, some of which include program planning, recruitment, monitoring and inputting program data, scheduling, meeting and event coordination and support of other medical education activities as assigned.
Illustrative Examples of Work Performed:
- Supports and manages the development, planning and coordination of rotations for graduate medical education.
- Maintains informational database system for various reporting requirements, including monitoring resident compliance.
- Manages evaluation system to include participant evaluation, grade reporting, file maintenance, and other program requirements, such as clinical and educational work hours, leave requests and absences, and other data related to licensure and certifications.
- Oversees resident procedures logs and documentation of clinical and educational work hours, and other related policy documentation.
- Coordinates preceptor orientation and communication, including preceptor letters and other correspondence.
- Assists with the planning of recruitment activities; may include overnight travel.
- Assists in the applicant interview process and events related to the visit, including meetings with faculty, dinners or lunches, and materials.
- Assists with the educational program participant orientation, graduation and extracurricular activities.
- Assists in the preparation of course and didactic materials, information packets, handouts; provides course information relevant to potential participants.
- Assists in the management the maintenance of the corresponding educational program participant database and all database entry (ERAS).
- Administers/ proctor exams of participants (oral, in-service, exit).
- Assists participants in maintaining licensure; insure compliance with Foreign Medical Graduates (FMG), visa guidelines, if appropriate.
- Assists in the maintenance of program accreditation with compliance of participants with corresponding organizations such as American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Residency Review Committee (RRC), Graduate Medical Education (GME), and HIPPA.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
CME Facilitator
This position is responsible for supporting the function of Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital and maintaining accreditation requirements. This position will lead operational management and administrative support functions for Archbold’s CME Program, supporting the medical education pipeline at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a high degree of initiative and independent judgment; and a desire to develop a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of national and state CME accreditation requirements. Responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks, some of which include CME program planning, monitoring and inputting program data, scheduling, meeting coordination and support of other medical education activities as assigned.
Illustrative Examples of Work Performed:
- Process invoices related to Medical Education and CME.
- Assists CME Consultants in management of the CME Program to assure compliance with Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) essentials and guidelines for CME provider status.
- Assists CME Consultants in management of the MAG accreditation process – completing survey application and accompanying documentation.
- Assist CME Consultants in assessing physician’s needs for continuing education based on periodic surveys, risk management data, quality management indicators, and post activity evaluation responses.
- Works in conjunction with CME Committee in activities to include course design, objectives, focus audience, selection of speakers and honoraria discussions, appropriate activity announcements and invitations, activity events (food, audiovisual needs, suitable accommodations, etc.).
- Responsible for CME meeting minutes, meeting agendas, collection/organization/review of meeting materials, etc.
- Coordinates/Facilitates the CME activity on site to ensure all support elements are in place, attendance is recorded, and evaluations documented.
- Enters CME into Cactus system; Distributes CME report annually to physicians.
- Maintains informational CME database system for various reporting requirements.
- Develops and maintains the CME Program Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Assumes responsibility for professional development and ongoing education to maintain a high degree of proficiency.
Education/Experience:
Preferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in an educational program, or an Associate's degree and four years of applicable experience.
