Statement of Purpose:
The Accounts Payable Representative is responsible for ensuring that all assigned accounts payable and accounting duties are completed accurately and efficiently. Using established guidelines, this position is responsible to perform the complete Accounts Payable function, ensuring that all accounts are properly paid, and that all invoices are posted timely to provide accurate management reports.
Accountabilities
- Reviews payable invoices for accuracy, proper approval and match to the purchase order submitted for authorization of purchase.
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Research and resolve a variety of internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in improving internal processes, systems and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
- The ability to be productive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Understanding in the fields of Accounting and/or Accounts Payable
- Excellent typing skills
- Detailed oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal, communication and research skills
- Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Word, and Excel)
Education/Experience
· Associate or Bachelor Degree in finance or accounting preferred or combination of equivalent education and experience
· Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable
