The Accounts Payable Specialist ensures the accurate processing and recording of the organization’s payables and the responsible management of client funds, trust accounts, or program-specific funds. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity and supporting our mission through diligent accounting practices and responsive service to vendors, staff, and program participants.
This role is fully onsite in Windsor Mill MD
This is a contract to hire position salary $27-32/hr
Responsibilities:
- Review, code, and process accounts payable invoices in accordance with grant restrictions, donor intent, and organizational policies.
- Schedule and issue timely payments to vendors, service providers, and partner organizations.
- Manage, track, and reconcile client trust funds, resident funds, or program participant accounts, ensuring compliance with nonprofit regulations and organizational policies.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on accounts payable activity and client fund balances for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings through account reconciliations and preparation of schedules.
Requirements:
- Strong Accounts Payable experience
- Prior experience in Non-Profit, Senior Living or Healthcare industry
- Knowledge of Social Security/Req Payee rules preferred
- Resident Funds Management System (RFMS) knowledge preferred
