Position Summary
- Responsibilities include providing local and wide area network support and wireless network support. Installation and maintenance of network infrastructure and associated hardware and software. Senior level network design and support responsibilities. This position is also responsible for implementation and support of network security technology. This role provides 2nd level support to network engineers and advance network issues.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Perform analysis with recommendations of technical and communications solutions as they relate to HHS’s wide, wireless and local area networks, and network security technology.
Assist in the implementation of IT security technology
Support the HHS Enterprise Network (LAN, WAN & WLESS)
Support the HHS Enterprise Firewall, content filer and VPN infrastructure.
Maintain accurate Network documentation
Collaboration with all IS department teams
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Education:
- Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred:
- Associate Degree Computer Science
Certificate and/or Advanced Specialized or Technical Training
Minimum Years of Experience
- Required:
- 5 years of related experience
- Preferred:
- 5-10 or more years of related experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
- Required:
- Strong computer troubleshooting skills
- Preferred:
- Familiarity with OSI model (Open Systems Interconnection), specifically how it relates to client / server troubleshooting.
