The Application Support Analyst is responsible for coordinating the support and implementation of assigned computer applications within defined areas. This includes serving as a liaison with Beacon Health System end-user departments, participating in project planning and execution, and ensuring proper system function through troubleshooting, training, quality assurance, and maintenance of system security. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Project Coordination

Coordinates assigned computer application responsibilities, including task tracking, issue resolution, and documentation.

Provides day-to-day support for one or more applications/systems according to departmental policies.

Assists with system testing and analyzes test outcomes.
-
Participates in preparing specifications for new systems, enhancements, or projects in collaboration with end users and IS staff.

Documents activities and updates records per department standards.
-
Follows established methodologies and procedures to ensure high-quality deliverables.
End-User Liaison & Consulting

Acts as a liaison with Beacon Health System departments, facilitating communication between IS and end-users.

Participates in business process redesign and documentation to improve system efficiency.

Identifies and recommends effective, efficient solutions to meet departmental needs.

Troubleshoots system-related issues to prevent and resolve problems.

Provides user training and support for both new and existing systems.
Collaboration & Departmental Effectiveness

Collaborates with IS and end-user teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of technology solutions.

Follows the department's shared vision and adapts to change in a professional manner.

Participates in internal training initiatives and mentors junior staff when assigned.

Completes assigned duties and special projects as directed.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in application support or related area (clinical, business, or IS).

Experience with Beacon’s core software and hardware systems preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:

Technical proficiency with computer systems, software, and hardware.

Ability to execute and evaluate system test plans.

Strong problem-solving and systems analysis capabilities.
-
Familiarity with standard business or clinical practices within the supported area.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Primarily office-based in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

May experience periods of mental and visual fatigue due to prolonged computer use.

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; lift/carry objects up to 30 pounds.
