ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position will be responsible for referring volunteers to appropriate departments and ensuring metrics are tracked. This position works closely with each department so that they communicate needs to the volunteers. This individual will also support event planning and special events.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until July 31, 2025 and contingent upon funding extension.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit new volunteers and provide training throughout the onboarding process and role placement.
- Screen volunteer applications and follow up with appropriate next steps.
- Serve as the point of contact for new and ongoing volunteers.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to local community partners about World Relief Quad Cities’ mission and service opportunities.
- Coordinate one-time service opportunities and donation drives as needed.
- Input new and existing volunteer information into internal databases and keep metrics up to date.
- Plan and lead volunteer training and recruitment events.
- Participate in World Relief Home Office’s volunteer coordination trainings and events.
- Maintain records of engagement activities and keep track of metrics related to community and church partnerships.
- Lead and organize the monthly food pantry process.
- Record volunteer hours and data into Dynamics monthly.
- Responsible for quarterly reports.
- Oversee the College Internship program.
- Attending College Fairs as needed.
- Work with the Event Coordinator, Church Mobilizer, Communication Specialist, and other Volunteer Coordinators to plan events, training, and outreach opportunities.
- Assist GNT team with Coordination of schedule, background checks and administrative duties as related to Volunteers
- Assist the Community Engagement Team with other tasks as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Ability to connect with connect with a diverse volunteer population.
- Ability to problem solve, create and implement new programs
- Strong administration & organizational skills; experience with databases preferred
- Strong writing and public speaking skills
- Ability to work on a team (CE) and ability to work independently
- Ability to work with internal departments within the WR organization
- Willingness to work on nights and weekends as needed for event
- Have method of transportation or a valid driver’s license (for the use of WR cars)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree or combination of related education and experience
- 2 years of related professional work, at least one year in the nonprofit sector
- Experience working with churches
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for communication and reporting.
- Excellent writing skills to craft compelling, audience-driven messages.
