Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, policies, and procedures, the Rehab Admission Assistant serves as a rehabilitation consultant and admissions facilitator with a primary focus on the client’s rehabilitation potential. Responsibilities include performing on-site record reviews; collecting and entering appropriate data; and serving as the liaison with the internal and external case managers. The Rehab Admission Assistant assumes responsibility for communicating with patients, families and staff on information that relates to admission into the Inpatient Rehab Program.
Education: Graduate of an accredited OT/PT Assistant Program.
Licensure/Certification: Valid unrestricted license in Ohio in one the areas of COTA or PTA required.
Experience: three (3) years of clinical experience specific to the rehabilitation of chronically or catastrophically ill or injured individuals and two (2) years recent experience in pre-screening and evaluating patients for admission to post-acute care are required.
Skills: Must have:
- Demonstrated expertise in analysis, decision making, time management, oral and written communication, and computer use;
- Highly refined interpersonal relationship skills, negotiation skills and problem solving skills;
- Knowledge of regulations of agencies involved in program operation and resources available for use in assessing regulations and parameters of third-party reimbursement;
- Knowledge of insurance and managed care principles and practices;
- Ability to project professional image; and
- Ability to function independently.
