Position Summary
Radiant Global Logistics, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Ocean Export Agent to join our International Operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless door-to-door movement of ocean export consignments while delivering high-quality operational execution, exceptional customer service, and supporting account profitability.
Key Responsibilities
The Ocean Export Agent will be responsible for:
Operational Execution
- Coordinating full-cycle ocean export shipments, including FCL and LCL, from booking through delivery.
- Preparing and routing accurate master and house bill instructions in compliance with company standards.
- Creating and submitting AES (Automated Export System) filings.
- Sending timely pre-alerts to overseas agents and partners.
- Entering proof of delivery and job cost data into transportation management systems with accuracy and efficiency.
- Preparing timely and accurate customer invoicing and assisting with job costing and file postings.
- Proactively tracking shipments and communicating delays or issues to customers and management.
Customer & Account Management
- Managing key accounts, and providing competitive and accurate rate quotes to customers, field offices, and overseas agent relationships.
- Ensuring timely resolution of payment discrepancies and preventing invoicing errors.
- Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent communication and service delivery.
Strategic & Compliance Functions
- Staying informed and compliant with international trade regulations, including ITAR, OFAC, CTPAT, and other government/export requirements.
- Participating in consolidation strategies and recommending best practices to enhance client outcomes.
- Negotiating rates and tariffs with ocean carriers and freight vendors to optimize cost and service.
- Assisting in the development and review of corporate rate structures.
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts by identifying process gaps and contributing to the development of standard operating procedures.
- Handling specialty cargo, including out-of-gauge and special equipment shipments.
- Assessing best routing options and vendor selection based on cost, transit time, and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or related field preferred.
Experience & Industry Knowledge
- Minimum of 3 years of international ocean export freight forwarding experience required.
- Strong understanding of ocean export regulations, documentation, and pricing methodologies.
- Experience with international freight forwarding systems such as CargoWise, SAPTM, or Gateway.
- Knowledge of CTPAT standards, export compliance, and government regulations.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and continuous improvement processes.

Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM EST (8-hour workday with required meal and rest breaks).
- Consistently report to work on time, prepared to perform required duties.
- Ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Usually moderate office noise level with climate-controlled environment.
- Regular physical demands: Walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; use fingers for keyboarding; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus.
