Position Summary:
Highly motivated individual where skills, experience, and dedication can effectively be utilized to meet the goals of Williamson Medical Center, patients and the community we serve. Possesses a strong positive customer service work ethic and ability to communicate with the public, community, family members, co-workers and management team in a positive cohesive professional manner. Operates telecommunications console in placing, receiving and relaying calls. Answers all incoming calls while performing overhead paging, code announcements and other duties in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Workplace Experience:
Three years PBX/Customer Service Experience Preferred.
Equipment and Skills Training:
Meditech, Fax, Copier, time and attendance, Multiple alarm systems, Education system, PBX console, security radio, hand-held communication equipment, paging equipment, and email.
Physical Environment:
Office/clinical environment.
Physical Effort:
Prolonged sitting, consistent repetitive keyboard and terminal usage. Consistently work well under pressure and can function independently. Efficient verbal and written communication. Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
Key Results:
Operates telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls, operating the paging system.
Responds to internal alarms and alerts while necessitating the paging of corresponding internal codes.
Properly handles outages, emergencies and disasters which effect disruption of telephone service to the hospital.
Uses the correct date, time, and room rate accommodation for all room transfers, status changes, and newborn admissions.
Understands PBX runs 24/7. Willingly accepts work assignments, change in daily routine, and hours that may vary to accommodate staffing needs.
Consistently performs all PBX duties timely and accurately including all afterhour’s reports and duties.
Reports concerns requiring attention to supervisor or director. Is a problems solver that brings possible solutions with the concerns or problems.
Is available and accountable to provide on-call coverage when assigned.
Participates in departmental meetings/huddles/etc. and recommends improvement opportunities, Seeks and performs other related duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager or Director
