About the Role
We’re looking for a dedicated Central Supply Technician to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You'll use special devices to sterilize instruments and other materials. Central supply technicians assume responsibility for reprocessing and delivery of re-usable instruments, sets, and linen packs. CST's are responsible for ensuring adequate sterile supply levels are maintained in the operating room and other units.
What You’ll Do
- Sterilization: Operate sterilizing equipment on a daily basis. Reprocess all re-usable instruments (decontamination, set identification, preparation, sterilization) with load control numbers on the item.
- Organization: Assemble instrument trays according to computerized instrument count sheets; provide missing list when instruments are missing. You'll organize surgical instrument trays and complete stocking and inventory.
- Time Management: You are someone who will follow instructions accurately, organize multiple tasks, and establish day-to-day priorities.
- Safety: You'll follow universal precautions while working in the decontamination room.
- Communication: Verify with Operating Room staff that proper instruments, sets and equipment are on-hand and working properly. You'll provide information accurately and completely. Identify service-related problems and suggest ways to improve quality and productivity. Record all instruments processed in daily logs, and files according to procedure.
- Teamwork: You'll be relied upon to ensure all areas are clean, organized and ready for the next shift.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in cleaning and inspecting floor equipment. Monitor and document results of biological/bowie-dick testing, temperature and time cycles and reports malfunctions. Clean and monitor all necessary equipment.
