Reporting to the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), the Program Manager for Associate Recognition and Belonging will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive strategies and programs that enhance associate recognition, foster a sense of belonging, and promote a positive workplace culture. We are committed to DEIB as integral components of our mission to recruit, hire, and retain a workforce that reflects the diversity of our community and the evolving landscape of our industry. In collaboration with HR Operations and Centers of Excellence (COEs), this position will also oversee the processes and tools that support associate engagement and recognition as well as drive the critical work of our Belong at Beacon framework and roadmap across the health system.

Leads Associate Recognition by:
- Leading the design, development, and delivery of associate recognition initiatives such as recognition programs, team-building activities, and associate engagement events while incorporating and promoting our Belong at Beacon framework and initiatives.
- Developing an associate recognition strategy for the organization that promotes celebrating and affirming behaviors and practices that embody Beacon’s mission, DEIB commitment, values, and service goals.
- Leading the recognition committee to identify and address associate recognition gaps and align solutions with business objectives and priorities.
- Examining the current associate recognition platform and assessing its utilization and effectiveness.
- Conducting a full review and assessment of all current associate recognition initiatives.
- Managing the associate recognition process and ensuring the identification and celebration of high-performing and dedicated associates across the organization.
- Utilizing data, profile tools, and assessment instruments to measure the effectiveness of associate recognition programs and initiatives.
- Staying abreast of best practices and trends in the field of associate recognition and leveraging external benchmarks and research to inform and improve our practices.
- Developing and implementing initiatives to enhance associate engagement and retention with program oversight on associate listening strategies and tools.
- Ensuring activities and initiatives align and support the strategic objectives of the organization.
Supports DEIB Strategic Priorities by:
• Assisting with system-wide Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) programming and action priorities that aim to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture among all staff and locations.
• Working closely with the DEIB Council Subgroups to support and execute Belong at Beacon Framework strategic priorities.
• Collaborating with the Director of DEIB to establish DEIB programming and strategic priorities that drive positive impact and an equitable, inclusive associate experience.
• Collaborating with the Director of DEIB on initiatives to improve DEIB training and development. Working with the Manager of Organization Development (OD) and other key stakeholders to research, design, and implement annual DEIB learning plans at associate, leadership and organizational levels utilizing both internal and external resources.
• Partnering with the Director of DEIB to monitor progress on Beacon’s DEIB multi-year objectives and metrics as reflected by the Belong at Beacon roadmap to ensure steady organizational progress toward established goals.
• Assisting the Director of DEIB in preparing for executive leadership updates and developing/reviewing organization-wide communications to create transparency and measure progress on Beacon’s Belong at Beacon strategic initiatives.
• Assisting the Director of DEIB in designing, and setting up colleague-facing DEIB communications, ensuring regular updates and communications, including a dedicated web page to support DEIB-related communications, events and trainings.
• Maintaining and tracking DEIB metrics and success measures.
• Serving as a consultant to the OD team to help design and deliver strong and effective professional development opportunities for all staff and leaders.
• Collaborating with the OD team on the development and execution of Beacon’s Wellbeing & Belonging Advocate program.
• Conducting equity audits and assessments to identify and set up action plans to address inequities in the workforce, culture, policies, practices, systems, and structure.
• Collaborating with key stakeholders to develop a supplier diversity strategy for Beacon Health System.
• Collaborating with the talent acquisition (TA) and workforce development (WD) teams to promote diverse and inclusive recruitment, selection, onboarding, retention, and professional development strategies in support of our system-wide strategic goal to increase diversity in leadership.
• Partnering with the TA team on the planning and execution of diversity recruitment events and programs internally and externally.
• Advising and contributing to diverse hiring and inclusive onboarding best practices.
• Serving as an internal consultant to HR managers and managers across the organization on DEIB-related issues and concerns.
• Collaborating with the marketing and communication team to ensure DEIB communications are available in different languages and reflect the organization’s DEIB goals and values.
• Supporting the leaders and members of Beacon’s associate resource groups (ARGs) on initiatives, events, activities, communication, and outreach across the system to help increase effectiveness and engagement.

Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:
• Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
• Completes mandatory education, annual competencies, and department-specific education within established timeframes.
• Completes annual associate health requirements within established timeframes.
• Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout the fiscal year.
• Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
• Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process, and compliance.
• Complies with established organization and department policies.
• Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required. Master's degree and/or DEIB certification preferred. At least 5 years of experience in employee recognition, DEIB initiatives, or related fields, with a proven track record of delivering results in a complex and fast-paced environment.

• Strong knowledge and skills in associate recognition and engagement methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders and stakeholders across the organization.
