About the Position:
The Managing Director isresponsible for leadership and supervision of all Residential Community Based Program Directors to ensure service delivery meets organizational standards, complies with federal, state, and local regulations, and meets contractual obligations. This position is a key liaison to Amity Foundation executive teams as well as between CDCR and Amity faculty. This position shall provide oversight and coordination across all community-based programs in California.
What You Will Do:
- Overall administrative responsibility to ensure service delivery meets organizational standards and contractual obligations.
- Responsible for mentoring, advisement, and supervision of key staff members in the development and delivery of services, staffing issues, and reporting.
- Evaluate and identify Residential Community Based Programs trends and assess project performance based on stated goals and objectives. Modifications in service delivery are recommended to improve engagement, retention, and outcomes.
- Provide advisement and oversight for Residential Community-Based Program Directors on required reports and the implementation of policy and procedures governing the programs.
- Provide workshops and professional development for Amity faculty on topics that may include engagement, enrollment, initial interview process, effective use of data to inform services, trauma-informed services, and best practices of Therapeutic Communities.
- Oversight of staff recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing patterns within California and Arizona.
- Oversight of day-to-day operations of Circle Tree Ranch.
- Attend workshops, meetings, and trainings as requested by supervisor.
- May serve as Community Advocate role in addition to job as requested by community leadership.

What You Will Bring:

Required:
- Master’s Degree in a social service-related field and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience working in a Residential community-based Based Program; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in a social service-related field and at least two (2) years of supervisory experience working in a Residential Community Based Program; OR
- Associate’s Degree in a social service-related field and at least four (4) years of supervisory experience working in a Residential Community Based Program; OR
- Six (6) years of supervisory experience working in a Residential Community Based Program.

- AOD Certification from an accredited certifying organization recognized by DHCS. (Licensed professionals, including licensed physicians, psychologists, clinical social workers, professional clinical counselors, marriage and family therapists, and registered associates, are exempt from this requirement).

Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for the behavioral, psychological, physical, and social effects of drug abuse.
- Knowledge of the contractual requirements of Residential Community-Based Program operating functions is essential.
- Understand an array of treatment models and maintain a current awareness of trends and emerging issues among institutional programs.
- Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
- Highly competent in organizational leadership and contract compliance.
- Ability to integrate, disseminate, and implement requirements, reporting timeframes and/or procedure changes as indicated by CDCR.
- Ability to demonstrate proper attitudes and techniques towards subordinate faculty and program participants. Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
